The latest patch seems to have fixed the issue!
You probably don't need this tool anymore.
In
Hunt: Showdown 1.5
there seems to be a bug that causes the game crash during startup.
Someone found out that this is caused by the settings file. The general
suggestion is to delete this settings file and start the game again:
Hunt Showdown\user\profiles\default\attributes.xml
Unfortunately this will reset all your settings: Graphics, audio,
keybinds, content marked as read, etc. Alongside other players I found
out that certain keybinds may be the culprit: When you have a secondary
keybind for an action but no primary one, the game will crash. At least
that's what I believe.
This tool will allow you to select your
attributes.xml
, search for such keybinds and swap them. This way you can keep your
settings, hopefully fix the crash and don't need to edit the file
manually.
It worked for me and hopefully, it will help you, too! :-)
attributes.xml
!
Back up your
attributes.xml
file!
I cannot guarantee that this will work for you. It worked for me, but maybe that was just a smaller part of a bigger problem.
It's possible to mess your config up again within the game's settings menu. This tool doesn't fix the actual bug!
The data will not leave your computer. This is just a small UI wrapping a super simple script that runs exclusively within your browser. If you're extra paranoid, just disable your internet connection while using it.
I am in no way affiliated with Crytek. This is just supposed to help fellow hunters.
